For loved ones to be prepared to move into a senior living community, the most important thing is deciding on which senior living apartment homes to live in. Considering that the apartment serves as a place for your loved ones to unwind after a busy day of activities and events, the apartment should meet your loved ones’ needs and expectations, as well as provide a safe and secure living environment. At Discovery Commons Cypress Point, we have a wide variety of floor plans for our Assisted Living and Memory Care living options. In this article, we’ll elaborate on our senior living apartment homes in Fort Myers, FL.
Types of Floor Plans
Here at Discovery Commons Cypress Point, we have six floor plans that residents can choose from under our Assisted Living option. For a one-bathroom suite, there are three different sizes available: the 355-square-feet Brookshire, 380-square-feet Breezewood, and 410-square-feet Calusa. Both the Breezewood and Calusa have a living room, so they are suitable for loved ones who wish to host parties or have friends over regularly. When it comes to our one-bedroom and one-bathroom, there are two options to choose from: Blueway and Captiva. Both of them are 455-square-feet in size, though the main difference is the size of the closet. The Captiva has a walk-in closet, whereas the Blueway does not. Last but not least, our biggest apartment is the two-bedroom and one-bathroom Tarpon that is 600-square-feet. This is perfect for loved ones who are looking to rent with friends in order to cut rent costs.
For our Memory Care community, we understand that loved ones under this living option require much supervision. As such, the apartment is designed to be simply furnished to provide a more spacious environment for loved ones to roam around. The one-bathroom suite, Osprey, comes with a stand-alone closet and wide foyer.
Amenities in Our Senior Living Apartment Homes
Aside from various floor plans to choose from, our apartment homes come with multiple amenities and features in order to provide a well-rounded lifestyle for our residents. Considering that falls are the leading cause of injury for older adults aged 65 and above, we made sure the apartments are carpeted throughout from the living rooms to bedrooms to minimize the risk of slipping. The bathrooms and walk-in showers are also specially designed to be spacious, so that loved ones have ample space to move around, especially for those who are in wheelchairs. Another safety features we have incorporated into the apartments are the in-unit thermostat controls and emergency call systems. The thermostat controls ensure that loved ones can adjust the room temperature whenever desired, while the emergency call systems allow loved ones to call for help or medical assistance in the case of emergencies. Caregivers may not always be by your loved ones’ side 24/7, so having easy access to aid is highly crucial. If you’re worried that your loved ones may not have sufficient storage to store their items, no fret, as the apartments are installed with many cabinets and dedicated storage spaces.
